Ad campaigns are the best possible way to create awareness of your business.

The reason we list them as 5th on the steps to take when looking to generate more awareness is because your ad campaigns are informed by your market research, they’re more complex than optimising your social media accounts, your website needs to be highly optimised to convert the increase in traffic your ads will bring in, and SEO takes longer to gain momentum so it’s important you do this as soon as possible.

A successful ad campaign is very rarely a single ad, telling people to buy what you have to offer.

You don’t ask someone to marry you on the first date, and people don’t buy from businesses this way either.

Your ad campaign should have multiple ads, with the first ad simply being about generating awareness of your business – making sure as many people as possible in your target market know you exist.

Strategic ad campaigns give an immediate boost to business awareness.

It’s that simple.

The biggest obstacle for business owners is being able to differentiate themselves from the hundreds of thousands of others who are also using ad campaigns to boost awareness.

Learning to cut through the noise and reach your target audience with precision is a skill that can be developed (and must be developed) in order to generate more awareness of your business.

When thinking of running some awareness campaigns, you need to take the information gathered from your market research phase and understand who your target market is and what platform would be best to reach them on.

Very generally speaking, if your target market is females in their early 30s, Instagram is probably the best platform.

For males in the 40’s, Google Ads is probably best for you.

Males and females in their early 20’s, and TikTok would be your best bet.

Again, taking the information from your market research, you should know exactly what language your target market is speaking and how to reach them on a personal level – while getting in front of thousands of potential clients and customers.

You and I are incredibly lucky to be alive and running a business today.

Generating awareness of your business and getting in front of the sheer volume of people that is possible today is something that we think many people (business owners especially) take for granted.

15 years ago, very few people were using social media advertising for anything and ad space was sold online like little plots of real estate on specific websites.

25 years ago, very few people were advertising online and relied on print media to generate awareness – limiting their reach to the readers or subscribers of that specific media (it was also crazy expensive because there were only so many advertising spaces available).

40 years ago, television commercials were the only real way to gain any real awareness of your business – and that relied on the right people sitting in their homes, having their TV set on, and watching the right channel, at the perfect time…

So, when you think about it.

The fact that we can literally pay a few hundred dollars and within the next 30 minutes have thousands of people become aware of our business is such an amazing place to be in.

We are very lucky to have this ability.

So take advantage of this opportunity you have and start running some awareness ad campaigns.

Our suggestions, when it comes to running an awareness campaign would be as follows:
1. Set up your website with the right pixels to make sure you record who visits your website as a result of the campaign
2. Don’t look for new clients as the outcome – just awareness
3. Run the campaign for at least 2 months
4. Minimum budget of $500 per month
5. Have a plan of what to do at the end of the campaign
6. Make sure you use targeting tools that are made available to you to only get in front of your ideal target market

As with most other aspects of business, there could be millions of books written on the perfect way to run an ad campaign.

We’re not going into that right now. The purpose of this is to give you an overview of different topics and get you to take action.

Taking action without all the knowledge is going to give you much better results than learning everything there is to possibly know and not taking action at all.
